Abstract

Are you interested in contributing to the future of biomedical diagnostics while gaining hands-on experience with cell culture techniques? We develop cutting-edge diagnostic methods that rely on high-quality, reliable cell culture work. We are seeking a motivated student assistant to help maintain our cell lines and support our experiments, contributing directly to the development of novel diagnostic solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

In this research context, we are looking for a talented student who is pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology (Biologie), biotechnology (Biotechnologie), biomedical sciences (Biomedizin), molecular medicine (Molekulare Medizin) or a related life sciences discipline to support our research as a student assistant (HiWi).

Typical tasks include:

• Cultivation and maintenance of various cell lines (thawing, passaging, cryopreservation).
• Preparation of culture media and reagents.
• Assisting with cell-based assays relevant to our diagnostic experiments.
• Documentation of lab activities.

Education & Experience

Applicants should have

• An enrollment at a German university in a relevant field such as biology, biotechnology, biomedicine, molecular medicine, or a related discipline.
• Previous laboratory experience in cell culture (e.g., during Bachelor’s thesis.
• Good laboratory practices (GLP) and careful, independent work style.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.

We are also interested in candidates who have

• Experience with sterile work under a biosafety cabinet.
• Familiarity with basic microscopy.
• Interest in learning additional techniques related to diagnostics and molecular biology.

• Students without a Bachelor’s degree will earn €15,00 per hour. Students holding a Bachelor’s degree will be paid €15,61 per hour. Contracts are given per semester.
