About the role

We’re looking for a Team Lead DevOps & IT (m/f/d) to play a key role in shaping the foundation of our next-generation hospitality platform.

In this role, you’ll lead a small but impactful team responsible for infrastructure, cloud, and IT operations . You’ll guide straiv’s transition to a scalable, cloud-based architecture , ensuring reliability, performance, and security across all systems — while keeping our current platform stable and efficient.

You’ll work hand in hand with our Head of Product and Innovation and a talented group of engineers to enable product innovation through robust infrastructure, modern DevOps practices, and forward-thinking system design.

Your Mission

• Lead and mentor the DevOps and IT team, driving collaboration, technical excellence, and a culture of accountability.

• Architect and evolve our infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and high availability across environments.

• Design scalable SaaS software architecture in close collaboration with Engineering and Product.

• Drive automation across deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.

• Enhance and maintain our CI/CD pipelines, observability stack, and system monitoring.

• Oversee IT operations , ensuring secure, efficient management of systems, identity, and access.

• Champion best practices in cloud security, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.

• Enable innovation through modern DevOps methodologies and cloud-native approaches that empower fast, reliable delivery.

What You Bring

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Cloud Engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership or team lead capacity .

• Proven expertise in AWS cloud architecture , automation, and operations.

• Strong experience with microservices-based architectures , infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible), CI/CD pipelines , Python and Bash scripting.

• Solid background in software architecture and design for scalable SaaS systems.

• Hands-on knowledge with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS)

• Deep understanding of networking, monitoring, observability, and security practices .

• Familiarity with IT operations — including endpoint management, internal tools, and identity/access management.

• A problem-solver and systems thinker with strong communication and leadership skills.

• Fluent in English (German is a plus).
