The Opportunity

We are excited to offer a full-time opportunity in our team at our Stuttgart office, starting immediately. Depending on your level of expertise, you will join us as a Trainee or Junior Advisor. You will play an integral role in supporting our projects across digital innovation, EU and national funding landscapes, smart city strategy, and public sector engagement in the DACH market.

Tasks

What You Will Do

• Hands-on experience contributing to real-world projects in climate action and smart cities, working closely with public and private sector stakeholders.
• Designing, preparing, and supporting the facilitation of workshops with public and private sector stakeholders, turning insights into practical and actionable outcomes.
• Supporting client outreach and communication through data-driven analyses, high-quality materials, structured mailings, and active participation in meetings.
• Engaging with city representatives and ecosystem partners as part of BABLE's international innovation network, building a strong professional network in the smart cities ecosystem.
• A flexible role that evolves with your background and interests, offering continuous learning, increasing responsibility, and meaningful impact.

What We Expect From You

A can-do attitude!

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect different topics across digital innovation, public policy, and urban development in a structured and logical way.
• Excellent research skills across policy, funding, technologies, and smart city development.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent command of MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and represent the organisation in project meetings and stakeholder interactions.

Requirements

Your Profile

• 1–3 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
• Currently pursuing a master's program in Energy Engineering, Sustainable Mobility, Environmental Engineering, Smart Cities or a related field, or possessing practical experience in a relevant area with outstanding academic achievements.
• A native or professional level of English and German in both written and spoken is mandatory.
• Awareness of how public sector organisations operate, including municipalities, regional authorities, and multi-stakeholder environments.
• Motivation to work regularly from our Stuttgart office to collaborate closely with the team is mandatory.
