BABLE Smart Cities is the Facilitator for Smart Cities in Europe, born as a spin-off from Fraunhofer Research Society. With a decade of experience in the field, we offer practical insights gained by practitioners, for practitioners.

Internship Opportunity

We are excited to offer an internship opportunity in our Business Development team, based in Barcelona. As an intern, you will play a key role in supporting our market expansion and client acquisition initiatives across Spain and Southern Europe.

What You Will Do

• Research and identify relevant prospects using market intelligence, web tools, and provided prospect lists
• Prepare and execute LinkedIn and email outbound campaigns, crafting compelling messaging tailored to target segments
• Follow up on leads, manage response cadence, and qualify opportunities for the sales pipeline
• Maintain and update the CRM pipeline in HubSpot, ensuring data accuracy and tracking lead progression
• Support light project management across BD initiatives, coordinating with internal teams and tracking key metrics
• Contribute to market research and competitive analysis to inform our go-to-market strategy

What We Expect From You

We're looking for proactive, detail-oriented individuals with strong communication skills and a passion for building relationships. Here's what we expect:

• Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and analysis
• Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, HubSpot CRM (training provided)
• Experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) for productivity and research is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload while collaborating effectively with the team
• A genuine interest in B2B sales, market development, and the smart cities sector

Your Profile

• Currently studying a degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, Communications, or a related field
• Mandatory internship as part of your curriculum
• Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and spoken)
• Based in Barcelona or willing to work fully on-site
• Familiarity with the smart cities, sustainability, or climate action landscape is a plus, though not required
• A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
