Senior Leadership Opportunity: Head of Water Infrastructure (m/f/d)

A leading engineering consultancy specializing in infrastructure solutions seeks a strategic and operational leader for its Water Division, based in Southern Germany. This is a key management position offering the chance to shape the future of water and wastewater services for our clients. The role is available for the earliest possible start date.

Your Responsibilities:
As Head of the Water Division, you will have full autonomy and responsibility for a department of around 40 - 50 employees, focused on Supply & Process Engineering, Wastewater Management, and Environmental Services. Your key duties will include:

• Strategic Development: Continuously evolve the division's capabilities, driving innovation and efficiency, particularly through digitalization and the application of both established and modern project management methodologies.
• Technical Oversight: Manage the planning and construction supervision of complex, forward-thinking drinking water projects. Oversee the operational management and engineering support for municipal wastewater treatment facilities.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Foster talent development and competence building within your teams. As a member of the management board, collaborate closely with the executive leadership and heads of other divisions (Building Planning, Energy Technology, Network Management, Infrastructure) to align strategies and achieve overall company objectives.
• Business Growth & Representation: Actively contribute to the company's growth strategy. Represent the firm professionally to clients and partners, participate in municipal committees, and lead the acquisition of new projects within the water sector.

Your Profile:
We are looking for a candidate with:

• Education: A university degree in Civil Engineering, ideally with a specialization in Urban Water Management, or a comparable technical qualification.
• Experience: Significant professional experience gained over several years within an engineering consultancy or a similar environment. Proven experience in leading larger teams or managing a department is essential as well as experience in water supply and urban water management.
• Leadership Qualities: A dynamic and communicative personality characterized by strong initiative, a clear focus on objectives, and an entrepreneurial approach. You possess excellent negotiation skills, assertiveness, decisiveness, and a high degree of personal responsibility.
• Operational Strength: A practical, "hands-on" mentality with demonstrable strength in operational execution, especially within project management.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth familiarity and applied knowledge of relevant German engineering fee structures and contract regulations (HOAI/VOB).
• Skills: Proficiency in standard MS Office applications and possession of a valid Class B driving license.
