Principal Developer, Java Backend with Angular

We are building a software update management system for leading global automotive brand, focused on Over-the-Air (OTA) updates. The project is based on a microservices architecture and will be deployed in Microsoft Azure. It includes a complex backend and a simple UI designed for internal corporate use.

The system will handle update distribution, monitoring, and management, ensuring seamless and secure software updates for vehicles. Our team will develop scalable services using Java (Spring Boot), Angular/Vue.js, PostgreSQL, and cloud technologies.

We are looking for highly independent professionals who can work with new technologies, solve complex problems, and take full technical responsibility. The key roles include an Engineering Team Lead, Principal Software Developer (Architect), and Proxy Product Owner, along with a team of developers, DevOps, and QA engineers.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and evolve the system's backend with a strong focus on scalability and performance.

Define and document system architecture, ensuring maintainability and extensibility.

Develop robust APIs and efficient database schemas for optimal performance.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team.

Collaborate with the Engineering Team Lead to make strategic technical decisions.

Ensure code quality, security standards, and best practices are followed.

Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks in the system.

Stay up to date with emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions.

Skills

Must have

Minimum 5+ years as a Principal Software Developer, Software Architect, or similar senior-level role.

Extensive experience in backend architecture with Java (minimum 8+ years).

10+ years of professional experience in software development.

Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale, distributed, and high-performance systems.

Advanced German (C1)

ability to communicate fluently with the client.

Advanced English (C1)

ability to communicate fluently with the team.

Nice to have

Deep knowledge of: Cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS acceptable)
